Family Promise Thank You!

St. Paul’s collection for Family Promise of Philadelphia has been a resounding success. The drive commenced with the executive director, Bob Byrne, speaking with the parish at each of our three services. I think this face time with Bob, and the ability of many people to speak with him between services, helped generate enthusiasm for the work Family Promise does and for the support our church is able to give Family Promise. The amount of linens collected has been astounding.

On Thursday, February 22nd, I delivered a very packed car of linens. There are many more linens being picked up by Family Promise Thursday or Friday February 29 or March 1. Thank you to all who have contributed to making this drive the success it has been. Since so many linens were collected the $1000 outreach contributed to Family Promise’s wish list for families recently finding housing can all be used for other household items. Items already purchased from the wish list include: pots and pans, dishes, cutlery, lamps, shelves, clothing hamper, mixing bowls, food containers, kitchen utensils, and a toaster oven. Just an amazing result and a tremendous help to families in need in our city.

Thank you to all of you who helped make this happen.
