We Welcome the The Rev. Dr. Christian Brocato as Celebrant & Preacher this Sunday!

Until June of 2023, Christian served as Rector of historic St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Grand Rapids, MI. While Rector, he worked with various other organizations such as the Kaufman Interfaith Institute at Grand Valley State University and the Catholic Information Center and forged partnerships with several homeless shelters and the Islamic Society of Grand Rapids. Prior to being at St. Mark’s, he was Rector at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Cambridge, MA and worked with a variety of other organizations such as the Peace Commission of Cambridge, the South Asian Center of Cambridge and the Islamic Center of Boston.

Since his ordination in 1990, Christian has served in parish ministry, campus ministry, academic ministry and retreat ministry. He is a seasoned liturgist and sacred musician and has degrees from the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, the University of Minnesota where he earned a Master’s and a PhD and the Aquinas Institute of Theology.

Christian’s background in teaching includes Providence College, the Institute of Pastoral Studies at Loyola University (Chicago) and the New England College of Business and Finance where he was also Dean of Academic Affairs and a Full Professor.

Christian is committed to social, economic, racial and climate justice and is committed to people of all ages with diverse backgrounds, orientations and beliefs. He is committed to the great liturgical traditions of the Episcopal Church and to interdenominational and interfaith work.

Most recently, Christian served as Priest-in-Residence at Church of the Holy Spirit in Harleysville and now is serving as a priest in various parishes in the Diocese of Pennsylvania. He is delighted to be with us at St. Paul’s this Sunday and looks forward to presiding, preaching and meeting parishioners of all ages.
