Sacred Grounds Update: 5/2/25

As is the case with nature, winter was a season of rest and preparation for new growth. Educational sessions were held with SPY and the Adult Forum focusing on the theology of creation stewardship. Now it’s spring and time to get busy!

On Friday 30 May from 5:00 – 6:30 members of the property committee will work with SPY to show how to read and scale construction drawings for the sewer project. After that the team will go to the site and mark out the underground utilities – an important step so we can avoid planting deeply rooted plants over utilities.

Saturday 21 June, everyone who has expressed interest in being a part of the project is invited to a design charette in the parish hall. We will discuss our goals and start planning to address the primary areas that need attention – a new wildlife habitat, the rectory, and Cooke Park. More to come on that important meeting.

This is a hands-on project that will benefit from maximum participation. Interested? Drop an email to Mark Duckett duckettmpd@hotmail.com, or talk to Tom Lloyd, Mother Madeleine, Louise Thompson, John Faggotti, or Kristen Poole.
