Saturday, January 24, 7:00pm A Festival of Sacred Song with Theodicy Jazz Collective Theodicy Jazz Collective is perhaps the nation’s foremost liturgically-based jazz ensemble, having led services and workshops at venues such as Washington National Cathedral and Canterbury Cathedral. Incorporating sounds from the traditions of jazz and gospel music and rhythms from Latin America and Africa, their music is a constant prayer, sometimes a shout of joy, sometimes a call to action, sometimes a cry for hope. This program at St. Paul’s is free and open to all.
Sunday January 25, 10:00am St. Paul’s Day featuring music from Theodicy Jazz Collective In celebration of the Conversion of St. Paul the Apostle, there will be one combined 10 a.m. service. We are honored to welcome Theodicy Jazz Collective back to St. Paul’s for this special musical Eucharist. We will also welcome The Rev. Dr. Quintin L. Robertson as a guest preacher. Rev. Robinson is an Associate Minster at the Monumental Baptist Church and serves on the faculty at United Lutheran Seminary directing the Urban Theological Institute and Black Church Studies. All are welcome!
