2026 Thanksgiving Turkey Drive
As Thanksgiving approaches, we find ourselves thinking about how fortunate we are to gather around a table with family, friends, and plenty of food. We also know that many families in our community are facing a very different reality—and may be wondering how they will provide a holiday meal.
For the past six years, your generosity has helped us provide more than 900 Thanksgiving dinners to local families through St. Barnabas Food Pantry at St. Luke’s Germantown, Face to Face in Germantown, and the Family Promise Food Pantry in Roslyn. We would love to continue this tradition with your help. Together, we can make sure more families have the ingredients for a warm, comforting Thanksgiving meal—and remind them that their neighbors care.
You can participate in whichever way is easiest for you:
- Creating a meal for a family by filling two reusable shopping bags using the list below, or
- Donating $50, and we will assemble the meal bags for you.
If you plan to participate, please let us know by November 15 whether you prefer to create or fund the meal bags.
Thanksgiving Food Drive Shopping List
Each Thanksgiving meal includes two reusable bags to make transport easier for families who may be walking or taking public transportation.
If you plan to participate either way, please let us know by November 15 by signing up here and indicating if you prefer to create or fund the meal bags. This will allow us to plan distribution for the greatest impact.
Thanksgiving Food Shopping List – A meal includes Bag 1 + Bag 2 Since many of the recipients will be walking or taking public transportation, reusable bags will allow for easier transport.
Reusable shopping bag #1 – frozen items:
- 1 10-12 lbs frozen turkey
- 1 frozen pumpkin or apple pie
Reusable shopping bag #2 – dry goods:
- 1 box of mashed potatoes
- 1 14 oz. can cranberry sauce
- 2 6 oz. boxes of Stove Top Mix for Turkey
- 2 14.05 oz cans of green beans
- 1 12 oz. jar of turkey gravy
Drop-off Details:
Shoppers, please plan to drop off your meal to St. Paul’s Dixon House on Sunday, November 22, 9-11 a.m.
