Duruflé Requiem

Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 5 p.m.

During the season of All Souls, all are invited for a memorial Eucharist, at which we will remember and celebrate the lives of those who have gone before us to the Kingdom of Heaven.

Saint Paul’s choir will sing the Requiem by Maurice Duruflé, widely considered to be one of the most beautiful and most frequently performed settings. Written for soloists, choir, and organ, the work features lush harmonies, fluid chant-like lines, and a virtuoso organ part.  The complete Requiem will be offered as it was intended to be heard, in the context of the Mass.

  • Sung by the Saint Paul’s Adult Choir
  • Conductor: Zach Fritsch-Hemenway, Director of Music
  • Organist: Christopher Jennings, Organist and Director of Music at St. John on the Mountain, Bernardsville, NJ.

The sanctuary will be illuminated with candles, and votive candles will be available for individuals to light.  You are invited to submit the names of loved ones to be held in remembrance and listed in the service leaflet.  Please submit the name(s) by Wednesday November 1st. Alternatively, you may call the Parish Office, 215-242-2055.
